About Me

We have been hearing this old adage "Health is Wealth" right from our childhood days. So right from the days we were kids we are well informed about the importance of health. Apart from this we have also heard that "A healthy mind stays in healthy body".

But as we grew up and caught up with the 'busyness' of life, we started completely neglecting the health aspect in the pursuit of earning money or building up our career etc. It's no more an unseen fact that this rat race is taking tremendous toll on our health.

The outcome has been really very disturbing. India is now on a killer epidemic diseases. It is very evident from the figures of ever increasing number of lifestyle diseases.

We don't hear people dying of cholera, TB, malaria, small pox these days. Thanks to medical science, we have completely conquered these diseases. What we see today are the alarming cases of diabetics, high blood pressure, arthritis, heart attacks, obesity etc. These are all non-communicable diseases which are essentially of long duration and generally slow in progression

This article featured in Times of India talks the facts:

In addition there is another study that has published that 25% of the Indians may die of lifestyle diseases before they are 70:

We have to do something about it. We can depend on the Government to offer aid to the poor, but those who don't have to depend of the Government for taking care of their health, need to take self responsibility.

I have taken a personal responsibility of mine and my family's health.

It's also my mission now to contribute towards building a healthier India. The idea is, we don't just have to face the above alarming facts, but we have to fight against them by looking for right solutions to bring down those figures.

This is the underlying agenda of my Healthy India Mission (HIM).

By way of this blog, I will be highlighting not just these facts, but also an approach to find a solution to make India a healthier nation.
